Intro
Instruction Based Art by definition from Wikipedia is 'Given his (The Artists) strategy of generating instructions for others to follow through the process of taking photos, drawing and other ways'. These Instruction Based art projects show that there can be art in any things like painting over CCTV Cameras. It really can be any activity as long as it includes making, preforming or completing an artists work. Also anyone can join into the project, even people who have never done art or never even had been close to an art exhibition. The art allows everyone a chance to repent themselves.
The Photoshoot Of The Assignment Number 10
We carried out an Instruction Based Art task. The task was assigned by John Baldassari to his students and we carried out the same task. 'Take pictures of the back of objects, uncharacteristic, low angle photos, high angles etc.
I think my photos weren't bad but they can definitely be improved by taking more "Risks". They weren't the best because i didn't fully understand the task. The angles could be more weirder and the photos could be more unusual. I also should have taken more uncharacteristic pictures. I think that the overall task wasn't unsuccessful as the some of the photos don't really make sense or why they were taken. My best photo is the first one, it has the weirdest most unusual look to it. My 4 favourite pictures out of these is the first 4. I like the very unusual angle of them and what you can see in the pictures (The Objects).

Second Attempt
I tried taking more risky, unusual photos and I think I achieved that. The photos have weird angles, weird objects that don't make sense. Theres kind of no back story to my photos and that makes it quite unusual since I always have a plan of what i am going to take pictures of.
Take photos with your eyes closed
I tried to complete this task by pining around with my eyes closed and stop. Take a picture with my eyes closed. Then I change the location and repeat the process. There are some links with my work to John Baldessari's work since the pictures are very spontaneous and unusual but they were made by using instructions.
Elements of art
- Line – Can be vertical, horizontal, curved or jagged. Examples: roads, sunsets, bridges.
- Shape – Two-dimensional representation of objects. Examples: silhouetted photographs of birds.
- Form – Three-dimensional representation of objects, usually through the use of lighting and shadows.
- Texture – The use of lighting to bring out details of an object, making it easy to see whether a surface is smooth or soft.
- Pattern – The use of repetition to create an interesting photo. Examples: photos of gardens or flowers.
- Colour – Using warm or cool colours to set a mood.
- Space – Either negative or positive space can be used to make a statement. Often seen when using the rule of thirds.
The Jigsaw Puzzle
The Jigsaw puzzle is a board game made from my picture. The black leather box consists of the puzzle pieces, the rules and the photo. I made the puzzle pieces using the Adobe Illustrator app and the laser cutter. The rules and the photo was printed and then laminated.
The presentation looks very nice, it has a neat black leather box. The box is very suitable for the game since its a small box so its easily portable. When you open the box you first see the the puzzle pieces and the rules. When you take out the puzzle pieces you can see the photo/what the finished puzzle should look like. I think overall the presentation and the game turned out perfect.
